The U.S. market for industrial machinery, automation and equipment: sales and imports recover

For 2022, the industry is expected to grow by 2.4 percent, with total sales of more than $305 billion compared to the $298 billion recorded in 2021 [In 2020, industrial machinery sales in the U.S. were $261 billion, and in 2019 they were $284 billion].

The trend increase in imports brings the sale of machinery for industrial automation and equipment in the U.S. market back to pre-COVID levels. The first half of 2021 closes about 10 percent below 2019's record sales levels, but, as we said, the trend figures are up.
