The 60th edition of the 2014 Fancy Food Show, which took place in the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center of New York from June 29 to July 1, was the largest yet in terms of attendees and exhibitors.

Started in 1955, the Fancy Food Show has gradually become the largest food and drink trade show in the United States.

Over the course of three days in New York, attendees had the opportunity to taste and purchase over 260,000 high quality food specialties that were selected for the event. Examples of products at the show include cheeses, cured meats, coffee, chocolate, liqueurs, snacks, and organic foods coming from 80 different countries.

There were about 2,700 producers that took part in the seminaries, workshops, talks discussing the future of the specialty food industry in the United States of America. Among the exhibitors were PKT and Toschi, two Italian producers and ExportUSA clients.

PKT, a chocolate manufacturer, and Toschi, a producer of liqueurs, vinegar, preserved fruit, had the opportunity to promote their brands and sell their products to the 28,000 plus visitors.

Representatives from all the major sales channels, importers, distributors, consumer associations and journalists were also present.

The sales of specialty food products in the United States of America have reached USD 88.3 billion in 2013, confirming the growth trend for the fourth consecutive year.

Next year’s market forecast indicate that the US market is one of the most desirable for Italian companies that intend to export their gourmet foods to the American market.
