Former Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo has been confirmed for the position of U.S. Commerce Secretary. She will oversee an $8B budget and 43,000 employees. Her first order of business is “getting America back to work”. One thing that the pandemic exposed is the sad fact that many Americans in rural areas do not have access to broadband networks.
