Sea Freight to Canada - Consolidated / Groupage for Montreal and Toronto

The LCL Montreal direct consolidation service offers a weekly shipment with the closure of the UBV CFS in Milan every Tuesday at 6:00 PM. Departure from Genoa (POL) is scheduled for Thursday, with a port-to-port transit time of 12 days and CFS-to-CFS of 18 days. Arrival at the Montreal destination port (POD) is expected on Sunday, with goods available in Montreal CFS the following Wednesday.

Similarly, the groupage shipping service to Toronto has a weekly departure with the CFS closure in Milan on Wednesday at 6:00 PM. Departure from Genoa is scheduled for Thursday, with a port-to-port transit time of 17 days and CFS-to-CFS of 22 days. Arrival at the Toronto POD is expected on Friday, with goods available in Toronto CFS on Monday.

The "cut-off" at CFS (Container Freight Station) is the date by which a groupage shipment (LCL - Less than Container Load) must be delivered to a CFS to meet the scheduled departure (for example, Thursday departure from Genoa to Montreal). LCL shipments will be consolidated into a container at the CFS before being loaded onto the ship.

Devanning refers to unloading cargo from a container. In the case of FCL (Full Container Load) shipments, devanning is carried out at the destination warehouse. For LCL (Less than Container Load) shipments, which do not occupy an entire container, devanning—or deconsolidation—occurs at the destination CFS (Container Freight Station).
